9kg and 9%BF in 9months is one of my biggest personal achievements.
Ladies,
9 months ago I made a decision to get in shape for our wedding. I decided to get a personal trainer to help. Which is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have tried everything before- running, aerobics, Zumba, cycling and Jane Fondaring – not surprisingly none of this has worked!
Every fortnight I spent an hour with the most amazing supportive and encouraging women Lauren Napolitano. She would pinch my fat (to track my body fat percentage), kick my ass in the gym, wipe away my tears when I felt bad about myself and jump up and down with me and give me a high five when I started to see change.
I met Lauren at a squishy 62kg and 20%BF. She taught me strong is the new skinny and by lifting weights 5 times a week and eating clean I will get results. She was right! Today at our last training session I am 53kg and 11%BF.
9kg and 9%BF in 9months is one of my biggest personal achievements. I have learnt so much about myself, my diet and what exercises work for me. I ate so much (of the right types of foods) I often couldn’t finish my meals and was allowed a cheeky cheat day once a week.
I used to feel so self conscious in the gym being one of the only girls and not confident with any of the equipment. Lauren has shown me how to use the equipment and provided me with a personalised program each month, tailored to my goals. She has given me the confidence to walk around the gym like a boss!! I now officially have a gym addiction and an expensive collection of active wear to match – thanks Loz.
Tomorrow this 30 year old bod will stand in front of Chris feeling 21. I haven’t been this fit in 9 years – if not ever.
Ladies – if you want to do something for yourself, do yourself a favour and see Lauren. Once a fortnight, once a week. Whatever you can manage. I promise she will change your life.
I am going to continue to train with her for another 13 months to see what my body is capable of. I am also going to make it my mission to encourage more women to use the gym. It is NOT just for men and we shouldn’t be stuck in the aerobics and spin room. So get around me ladies and lift what your mumma gave you.
